A Swiss sculptor, painter and printmaker, Alberto Giacometti was one of the 20th century’s most important artistic figures. Best known for his sculptures, much of his work focuses on human figures. While his paintings constitute only a small part of his work, his figurative paintings and prints were equally as prominent in his latter years. He was awarded the Grand Prize and the 1962 Venice Biennale.
