Born into an artistic Dublin family filled with creatives, Liam Belton trained at the National College of Art in the late 1960's. Along with setting up an art college with colleagues in Dublin's Temple Bar, he gave free art classes in Ballymun and Ballyfermot, while teaching art to the visually impaired for over 20 years. He was elected to the RHA in 1991 and to the Board of the National Gallery of Ireland in 2002. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across Ireland and is held in many private and public collections.
