While Louise Mansfield was never formally trained in art, it allowed her the freedom to develop her style and create distinctive painterly works. Her paintings are highly sought after by collectors and her varied compositions, including the lighter ‘Ballerina Series’ and beach scenes contrast with the deeper and more moody bar room scenes. Her thick impasto approach is reminiscent of Jack B Yeats and capture figures in movement in her own artistic style.
