Sean Scully’s ‘Lilianne #1’ is an aquatint etching from the series created in 2010 and named after his wife, and artist, Lilianne Tomasko. These works are some of Scully most personal, made just after the birth of his son Oisin. They capture in new chapter in Scullys life and reflect the relationships, feelings and emotions inspired by his work at this time. This important and compelling work, with beautiful and precise colours from the aquatint plate and print process holds a special affinity for Scully, who worked himself many years ago in a print shop. It is a wonderful opportunity to own the work of a major international abstract artist.
