How does bidding work?
Once you have registered for an account you can then view catalogues and bid on items.
To Bid, click on the Place Bid button, where you can either place a single bid or enter a maximum amount that you wish to bid. If you place a maximum bid of €600.00, say on an item that already has a bid of €300.00 on it, the system will place a bid for you starting at €320.00, if the other bidder places no further bids in the system, you will then have the winning bid. The system will increase your bids as other bidders place a bid. If you have been outbid the system will email you (or you can check at any time) - and you can then place another bid.
Do I have to create an account to use your site?
You are not required to create an account to view the site.
However, after creating a free account you will be able to place bids, view catalogues for upcoming sales, receive alerts about auctions and artists that you are interested in.
Are there fees for bidding online?
There is no charge to register and bid in our online auctions.
There are fees should you win an item in an auction. The Buyers Premium is 25% of the hammer price + vat at the standard rate (vat on commission only) on all individual lots.
For example on a hammer price of €1,000, the Buyer's Premium amounts to €250 and the VAT on the Buyer's Premium amounts to €57.50, giving a total amount due of €1,307.50.
The buyer's premium is a fee that a winning bidder is required to pay in addition to the hammer price, along with shipping or storage where appropriate.

What types of auctions do you offer?
Online Timed Auctions are internet-only auctions that are run from a set time. Each lot has a specific end time. These auctions allow you to place bids for a particular lot, if a bid is placed within the last two minutes of the allotted time, the timer is reset for an additional two minutes, allowing emails to be sent to interested parties, so they can place another bid. If no further bids are placed within the last two minutes, the highest bidder wins that lot. The two minute rule means the timer is reset every time a bid is placed within the last two minutes, until such a time as no further bids are placed. Whoever has the highest bid when the time runs out wins the lot. The date and time you see listed for Timed auctions are the time that bidding on the first lot ends.
You must be logged into your Account in order to place a bid. You can place a maximum bid on an item, if you are outbid, the system will email you to inform you that you have been outbid and invite you to make another bid if you so desire.
Bids on our auctions can be made at any time from when the catalogue is made live on our website.
If you are registered with us you will be sent an email indicating that the latest auction has commenced.

How does bidding work for Online (Timed) auctions?
Online Timed auctions are internet-only auctions that run from a set time. These auctions allow you to place bids from the time the catalogue goes live, usually ten days before the auction, until the scheduled end time for a particular item. Each lot has a specific end time. These auctions allow you to place bids for a particular lot or several lots. If a bid is placed within the last two minutes of the allotted time, the timer is reset for another two minutes, allowing emails to be sent to interested parties, so they can place another bid, this prevents sniping. If no further bids are placed within the last two minutes, the highest bidder wins that lot.
The two minute rule means the timer is reset every time a bid is placed within the last two minutes, until such a time as no further bids are placed. Whoever has the highest bid when the time runs out wins the lot. The date and time you see listed for Online auctions are the time that bidding on the first lot ends.
You can place a maximum bid on an item, if you are outbid, the system will email you to inform you that you have been outbid and invite you to make another bid if you so desire. Bids on our auctions can be made at any time from when the catalogue is made live on the Lot 100 website, if you are registered with us you will be sent an email indicating that the latest auction has been made live.

What is a Reserve?
For objects with a high value, the consignor and Lot 100 will make an agreement on a minimum price, or reserve. If an item does not meet the reserve, it will not be sold.
Property may also be offered without a reserve, meaning that there is no minimum price, or the minimum is at the auctioneer's discretion. The reserve on any item is never higher than the low auction estimate given. For example, if an item has an auction estimate of €1000 to €1200, the reserve will not be higher than €1000. This does not mean the reserve is set at €1000. The reserve price is private and confidential, known only to the auctioneer and consignor.
What does it mean if I am the highest bidder on an item?
Being the highest bidder on an item means that you currently have the highest bid on that Lot.
If you are the highest bidder when a lot closes for bidding, you will be the winning bidder of that item, provided any reserve has been met.
What if an item does not sell, can I make an offer?
If an item has not sold during an auction, you are welcome to make an offer. Items usually do not sell because they have not met their reserve price.
